Lyrical Shine for my ARCThis book was solid 3 12 Stars It 12 stars It efinitely from Shine for my ARCThis book was solid 3 12 stars It was Unscrewed definitelyifferent from books I wasn t sure if I really liked main character Fanny She was set as far as her career goes She loved expensive things she could American Musicians definitely afford them and she worked in fashion business I felt she was snobbish at first because she critiued everything and nothing was better than really fancy brand But after horrendousate and after couple of bottles of wine she was uestioning her life She ends up making Review also found at received a copy of this book from the publisher Kensington via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review This story was just released last weekThis story is the third in the it girl series It can be read as a stand alone however in my opinion I would recommend reading the series in order The reason is that by His Convict Wife (Convict Wives doing so you get the entire picture as well as the reader gets to experience the humor of Brown from the beginning Also the first two stories feature Vivian and will give the reader greater context in her role in Fanny s life With that in mind this review may only make sense to those who have read the whole seriesI m not going to lie I feel the first book was the best however in most cases this tends to be the case By now I am used to the over the top humor and endless references to all things pop culture There is no longer any shock value for me Thatoesn t mean this was not a good story It Toyota Management System delivered exactly what I was looking for and that was a light funny readWhile I was onboard with Fanny s journey Iid not find her as The Perfect Indulgence dynamic or compelling as her best friend This makes sense as the whole plot is surrounding her uptight personality It was interesting how Brown threw a lot of French phrases in to the story As someone who lives in a bilingual FrenchEnglish city Io come across a lot of Frenglish being spoken That being said it is none of the phrases penned in this storyThis was a light fast humorous read While I feel that it will forever live in the shadows of the two that came before it is still a good read Based on the ending of this storycan we expect a fourth story in the It Girl series I guess I will have to wait and see Working It is the third book in the It Girl s series by Leah Marie Brown It can be read as a standalone but it s best to read the first two books beforeThis is a story about Stephanie aka Fanny Moreau Vivia s best friend When Fanny trades her high fashion lifestyle for a teaching position in Alaska it s the start of a new and amazing adventure There she meets Calder MacFarlane aka Hottie McScottie the brave search and rescue pilot who once loved her best friend Vivia And the rest of it is historyBrown s laugh out loud sense of humor comes through again This book is simply a perfect story to read Stonebrook Cottage (Carriage House, during the summer on the beach or under a blanket by the fireplace in winter Simply loved it I misappointed I wrote this review and it idn t save the style and tone of the book were good St phanie is an absolute bitch extremely judgemental mean hungry and ridiculous for using new age slang like totes Class A people around her and it was amazing that she even intrigued them to begin Her character journey is what made her interesting but the book was too abrupt We were now elving into her issues and resolution and love and it just ended A uickie epilogue and that was that Calder was cheated out of voicing his thoughts and I m sure it would have been greatly appreciated Book was too California Living damn short Vivian got two booksammit and Fanny was the interesting of the two Thank heavens for the 2am call that was answered It was the catalyst Fanny needed That s not even a thing were Im from My So Damn Lucky (Lucky OToole, darlings and I are mostly fowls and very proud What s app and whenever we get up we will respond The scene in which the black male character imitated something with reference to the latin male character reallyisplayed the unfortunate way the American society is Wild Embers: Poems of Rebellion, Fire, and Beauty developing Too sensitive Fanny had the thought before understanding the reference that it was racist and I had the thought that Fanny is aamn ass and part of the overly sensitive society emerging Nothing about it was racist or hateful etc Should have been a Ryugakusei no tame no Kanji no Kyokasho SHOKYU 300 - Japanese Writing Study Book deleted scene We have one race with multiple ethnicities and cultures and some places where the two have merged beautifully but aren t being appreciated for what it can truly be by othersLeah continue to write beautiful novels and complexiverse characters I wouldn t be surprised if this was picked up for a motion picture I received a copy through Netgalley in return for an honest reviewIn all honesty there were a few niggles with the bookThem being I was constantly borderlining on A Study in Scandal (Scandalous disliking Fanny She was judgemental and shallow at the best of. Falling in love is always in fashionWith her trust fund and coveted job at Christian Dior Fanny Moreau believes she has it all But when her best friend finds a fulfilling new career abroad and areamy relationship with a great guy Fanny’s fabulous life suddenly feels empty Inspired to find her true purpose she trades her cushy lifestyle in San Francisco for an adventure in the Alaskan wildernessEveryone thinks Fanny has gone off the eep end Wh. .
The It Girl series this time featuring Vivia s bestie Fanny and her misadventures in fashion and love I felt a little lost uring parts of this book as I haven t read the second story in this series but caught up fairly smoothly Fanny is bitchy and snarky and ivalicious but also a great friend and a little clueless about the real world The sex scenes with Hottie McScottie are yummy though a bit glossed over and rushed but that s ok as this story is about her finding out who she is underneath the Dior I love that she was so vulnerable and even that her bestie Vivia made an appearance Their relationship is really the star of this show and in the end
WORKING IT is a story about living your authentic self and surrounding yourself with amazing uality IT is a story about living your authentic self and surrounding yourself with amazing uality who adore and fulfill you What a fabulous message Bottom Line Ms Brown s writing is witty sexy and poignant and I love how she makes her point without sounding preachy Kudos to you once again for an awesome read See at See at You can see this full review and at Book Briefs Working It is the third book in the It Girl series by by Leah Marie Brown The It Girl Series are all adult romantic comedies and each one can be read as a standalone Working It is the first book that I have had the opportunity to read but now that I have seen Vivia so much from this book I am ying to read her story She seems awesome I enjoyed how witty and fun Working It was It was the perfect mix of humor chick lit friendship and romanceFanny is a very posh and some might say a bit of a B lady who loses her job at a top fashion house and finds herself a little lost She ends up at a non profit in the middle of Alaska teaching a class Working It is really a journey of self Shadow of the Wolf (Hearts Desire, discovery for Fanny I loved that she has such great friends The friendships in this book made me smile almost as much as the romanceid I love Vivia and I really took a uick liking to Fanny s roommate at Teach them to Fish She is uirky and a ton of fun I would love for her to get her own bookI really enjoyed Working It It was a uick read that was a ton of fun I had only two sticking points with the book First I thought it took a little while to really get rolling I was kind of bored in the beginning and the story really only started to catch my interest when Fanny arrived in Alaska From there on out Working It and I were friends My main complaint is that I felt like the book was too short Once I started to get into the characters and the relationships I felt like the story flew by and I idn t get a chance to savore them r hang out with them long enough Especially in regards to the romance I felt like once things were really picking up with Calder and Fanny we were at 72% into the book and I was sad because I knew it would be over soon I wanted to see of themBottom line Fans over soon I wanted to see of themBottom line Fans chick lit will adore this series Working It is a fun read that you can finish in one sitting It takes a little bit of time to gain steam but once the story gets going it is fast paced and zips right along to the very end I think you will appreciate the friendships in this story most of all but there is also a yummy romance with a scot that I loved Overall this was a fun read I can t wait to read Vivia s storyThis review was originally posted on Book Briefs Working It rounds out the It Girls series nicely Fanny is a heroine readers can cheer for and since Vivia is her best friend readers get updates on the character we ve grown to love from the first two books in the series On the fashion career fast track Fanny Moreau commits career suicide with a runken text that lands her working for a non profit charity in Alaska Nothing like a little culture shock the streets of NYC to the Alaskan wildernessIt just so happens that on her way to her new found fashion exile Fanny runs into her best friends ex boyfriendfling Scottish rescue pilot CalderFanny Speer dreamed of landing a pilot like Calder but sheoesn t think a sexy man like him would ever want a girl like herthere is something about the way Calder looks at her that makes her feel she can conuer the worldI liked it but there was something about the pace of the story that was just off It Ultralearning definitely had a very slow start with it taking over 13 of the book before the story really began That slow start was offset by great humor thatid keep me investedIn the end I found Working It sweet very comical and sexy and a nice read for the chick lit shelf 35 starsI received this ARC copy of Working It from Kensington Books Lyrical Shine in exchange for a honest review This book is set for publication June 7 2016My Rating 35 StarsWritten by Leah Marie BrownPrint Length 224 pagesPublisher Lyrical ShinePublication Date June 7 2016Sold by Penguin Random House Publisher ServicesGenre Contemporary Romanceitunes Barnes NobleReviewed for. The Way She Could Truly Care Aboutway she could truly care about once she over her own prejudice The time she actually spent in Alaska and what happened before were unbalanced The Alaska time was rushed and it almost felt like watching a trailer of a movie rather than having an entire film I A Curse of Kings don t know how this book kept its length without actually zooming in on the actual story plotThen whyid I give this story 9510Simple because I loved reading this bookThere s something about Leah Marie Brown s writing that makes her stories like a soft fluffy pillow You can t help but love curling up with themThis is the third book in the It Series but it works perfectly as a standalone which is great for new readers On the other hand it also has little hints for the people who have read the previous booksAnd with this story I was happy to see an old favourite make a come back Calder McHottieAs Calder manages to slowly thaw Fanny and make her loveable and horny I also started to like Fanny and We also meet Laney and I feel like she was used as a middle person The thing we needed to connect Fanny from the one event to the other and this being her only purpose Which was a bit of a shame because she was an interesting character with potentialSo When LMB said the next book will star Laney I hope we ll get to find out about her but also about the setting of Alaska of which we now only had a glimpseDespite the few issues I had with it I enjoyed it rather a lot This book is simply a perfect story to read Garfield Dishes It Out (Garfield, during summer by the pool or under a blanket with a warmrinkposted on Falling in love is always in fashionWith her trust fund and coveted job at Christian Dior Fanny Moreau believes she has it all But when her best friend finds a fulfilling new career abroad and a Im a Narwhal dreamy relationship with a great guy Fanny s fabulous life suddenly feels empty Inspired to find her true purpose she trades her cushy lifestyle in San Francisco for an adventure in the Alaskan wildernessEveryone thinks Fanny has gone off theeep end What s a girl with a PhD in Prada Madame Timide doing teaching in an Inuit village Even Fanny is wondering especially when she comes face to face with Calder MacFarlane The Scottish search and rescue pilot is everything Fanny is not selfless heroic and used to living on the edge He s also the man who once loved her best friend Yet something in Calder s sexy gaze has her believing that she s a woman capable of great things a woman who might just find her own happily ever after in a place where she least expects itReviewI really enjoyed this fun clever book by new to me Author Leah Marie BrownI have been racking my brain trying to figure out who this Author reminds me with regards to her writing style but nothing Anyway I found the writing very fun to read with the right amount of wittyialogue sarcasm interesting characters and romance I know it sort of reminds me of the old show Northern Exposure Fanny is a fish out of water in this small Alaskan town as she tries to find herself and work as a teacher Of course there is a love interest Calder who is a search and rescue pilot with a Girl, Woman, Other delicious Scottish accent I would have liked to get to know about Calder There are bumps in Fanny s new life plans and romance when she is offered a very prestigious job in Paris Fanny at first comes off a little oneimensional but as the story goes on and she grows she becomes well rounded and so much interesting The romance with Calder has a little spice to it but if you are looking for an erotic romance this is not it This is the third book in the series and at no time was confusing to have not read them in order Though Vivia who is the main character of the first two is Fanny s best friend and they are so fun together I want to go back and read about them This is not a particularly long story so it would be great afternoon laying in the sun readLight fun read perfect for summer4StarsI received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review I can t help but picture sexy Calder in a kilt Lawd have mercy even in writing this Scot is A South African Night delectable Diorevotee St Phanie Moreau Has Royally Effed Moreau has royally effed One Bismillah Soup drunken night and an ill timed email has her not only losing her job but her self respect too In an effort to reinvent herself she s taken on a volunteer position in Sitka Alaska and in the airport she runs into Calder MacFarlane aka Hottie McScottie the very man who tried to woo her BFF from her fianc Calder is just aselicious as she remembers and now around teaching locals how to पिंजर design and make clothing she finds herself hookin up with the Scottish helicopter rescue pilotsheep farmersex on a stick Between bitchy students and bitchin sex Fanny has her hands fulland she s never been happier WORKING IT is the third book in.
